We recognize that the image below is the Official Seal of the town of Licab, Nueva Ecija. But have we ever understood what the different symbols mean? In the previously posted Licab's history, we have learned that Licab was founded in 1894, and it was Don Dalmacio Esguerra who worked hard so that Licab would be an independent municipality.
The man standing in the center of the Official Seal represents Don Dalmacio Esguerra as the founding father of Licab. The raised left hand holds an axe, which Don Dalmacio used to clear the land of wild vegetation, while his right hand is holding a bundle of rice stalks, which, as of today, is the primary crop in Licab. The man stands in the field with an infinity symbol symbolizing the unending desire for improvement and development in the town of Licab. The morning sun symbolizes hope. Finally, the 11 stars represent the 11 barangays of Licab. So everytime we see this seal, may we always be reminded of our roots (history), and our continuous hope that indeed, our beloved town, Licab, will continue to flourish and develop as a progressive municipality. |
